    The Autumn King carrot is one of the more popular varieties to grow. Its split-resistant skin turns to a deep dark orange/red color as it matures. One of the largest carrots! Grows 25-30 cm long. Easy to grow in sandy soil. A favorite of many home growers.  Carrots are sun-loving plants that also like the cold. Just keep them consistently watered and they'll be happy. If heavy frost is forecast, either harvest for winter storage or processing, or mulch with a thick layer of straw.

    Heirloom Carrots are some of the premier baby carrots available. Bright orange, these heirloom carrots grow about 9 cm long. Each sweet carrot is crisp with a tender core. Their small size lets them grow well in containers, as well as out in the garden. Little fingers are a Nantes type of carrot. Bred in France, they develop their characteristic orange colour earlier than other varieties, these carrots can be harvested early at 8-9cm. Don't let them stay in the ground beyond around 68 days from sprouting or they begin to lose their unique gourmet flavour and texture.

    Orange-scarlet roots are smooth, even-shaped, and free from eyes. The meaty carrots are 15 cm long and 2.5 cm thick with a sweet taste. A garden staple that is a good choice for soils that tend to be a little heavier. Chantenay produces crunchy, sweet carrots that are excellent for dicing. Roots grow to be a reddish-orange.

    Hybrid-The very straight, tapered roots of Deep Purple carrot grow 17-20cm long. These carrots are named for the fact that the purple characteristic runs right to the core, and they keep their colour when lightly cooked. The tops are strong for easy harvests, and the storage potential is great. This is a fine fall harvest carrot that is good for juicing and it looks amazing in salads. The sweet, smooth-skinned roots were a staff favourite from our field trials. This is a high yielding, very uniform variety which is perfect for any gardener.

    This carrot’s beautiful red-purple exterior provides a striking contrast to its yellow-orange interior and light yellow core. A treat for the eye when sliced, its sweet, almost spicy, flavour makes this carrot a home gardener’s favorite. Considered the most refined purple carrot available. Danvers carrots were developed in the 1870s in Danvers, Massachusetts. It became a popular seed due to the root's deep orange color and rich flavor. This variety does better than many popular carrots because it forms nice roots even in heavy, shallow soils. Purple Dragon carrots are considered to be very hardy and tend to do best in cooler northern regions.

    Koral Carrot (Daucus carota) is a late and very productive carrot variety recommended particularly for processing juices, purees, frozen food, and preserves. Koral carrot stores well and does not lose its nutritional nor gustatory assets in the process. It does not bifurcate, break, turn green, and it does not accumulate nitrates either. It produces long 20 cm, intensely orange roots that contain plenty of sugar, water, and carotenes, which makes them exceptionally tasty, sweet, and juicy. Koral is grown from sowing, intended either for summer and autumn harvest and consumption or for winter storing. Seeds for the summer harvest are sown in April, and for winter storing in the first half of May. Seeds should be sown in rows in 30-40 x 5 cm spacings. After the sprouting you should thin the seedlings, leaving 5 - 8 cm distances between plants. Light, sandy or sandy-clay, moderately moist, and slightly acidic soils work best in carrot cultivation. Koral carrot may be harvested from September to October.

A refined Chantenay strain, this stubby, thick-shouldered favorite yields smooth, uniform tapered roots best harvested 12-15 cm long and 5 cm in diameter. Thriving in even the poorest of soils, this light to deep orange Asian Carrot is ideal for summer sowing with prolonged harvest through autumn (and winter in more temperate zones). It’s an awesome juicer.
