In 1902 Golden Bantam corn became available and changed the look of corn around dinner tables from white to yellow. This old-fashioned variety produces 8 rows of large, yellow kernels on 12-18cm cobs. Plants grow 1.5-2m tall and Golden Bantam’s sweet flavour is fantastic for fresh eating or freezing on the day it is picked. Picking this corn and eating as soon as it is picked is the key to the most tender and sweetest corn.  If saving seeds corn has a 3 km pollination distance so it needs to be isolated from other corns for seed saving purposes.
