    A single stalk of this variety can bear 50-100 dark-green Brussels sprouts over an extended period. Compact plants produce sturdy spikes with edible florets that mature from the bottom up and take on sweeter tones after a light frost. Introduced in the 1890s Long Island Improved is open-pollinated. Mature 90 days from transplant. Brussels sprouts are members of the cabbage family. This hardy, cool-season vegetable requires temperatures below 70 degrees Fahrenheit to produce good-quality, flavorful sprouts. In mild, Mediterranean climates, plant spouts during the months of June through September for a late fall or winter harvest. The Brussels sprout plant is grown as an annual vegetable, although it is a biennial. Growing upright, the sprouts develop along the stalk of the plant in the leaf axils.

    Cucumber, 'Parisian Pickling' is the ideal cucumber for use in pickling and for eating fresh in summer salads. The fruits can be harvested while small and young at around 50 days for pickles or left to mature to 67 days for slicing cucumbers. 'Parisian' are suitable for indoor and outdoor sowing and ideal for container growing. The prolific plants produce blunt-ended fruits that average 15cm in length, the skin is medium green in colour with dark green spots. Small-spined, seedless, crunchy-sweet cucumbers. The fruits have firm flesh that holds well and is very uniform in shape which is important when trying to get all those little cucumbers into those jars!

    Dating back to 1885, this heirloom wins most flavour contests. Brandywine, which dates back to 1885, is the heirloom tomato standard. The large, beefsteak-shaped fruits grow on unusually upright, potato-leaved plants. The fruits set one or two per cluster and ripen late-and are worth the wait. Brandywine's qualities really shine when it develops an incredibly fine, sweet flavor. It a massive tomato and the vines are massive too. Tall sturdy stalks are necessary for these plants.

    50-60 days-Easy to grow and delicious to eat, this Chinese broccoli is harvested when the flower stalks are 1-2cm thick, just before the flowers open. Each Green Pearl Gai Lan seeds plant can be harvested several times, and all Gai Lan varieties are relatively cold hardy for fall harvests or winter harvests if some protection is provided. Plants grow to be between 60-75 cm tall in a bush growth habit. The flavour of the pods is excellent and a must-try! This bean can be harvested as a green bean when pods are crisp or left to mature further and harvested as a shelling bean. The seeds are a mottled brown and very tasty. These pods are versatile both in their use, and their unique colouring. They can be used either fresh or as dried beans, and there is no other variety with coloring quite like theirs.
